Essential tools for home gardens

Family vegetable gardens generally have a relatively small area and cannot be used for agricultural machinery. It can only be fully manual farming, and tools are essential. The following are my commonly used tools.

1. Iron shovel

① After each planting, turn the soil from the top to the bottom.

② Used for weeding, shovel it down against the grass. After the soil is loose, the grass can be easily picked out, which is more efficient and faster than using a small shovel to dig the grass.

2. Hoe

① For ridging, gather the soil on both sides towards the middle

② Digging shallow ditches, digging ditches when burying fertilizer, and also digging ditches when planting scallions

③ Loose the soil, quickly shovel the big soil, and small it

① For loosening soil

② Used for mixing fertilizers

③ Level the ground for use

4. Weeding shovel

① Small areas are very convenient for weeding, and there is no need to bend down

② It is convenient to bury soil in the plastic film insect net

③ Filling vegetables with soil is very convenient

It is best to buy a shovel made entirely of iron. It's best not to buy a wooden handle. If you keep it in the ground in the wind and rain, it's easy for the wooden handle to break. The wooden handle I first bought broke after more than a year of use, and then I bought an iron one that hasn't broken for over two years.

If you buy a small triangular shovel, you can buy a slightly larger hoe, which can shovel more soil and facilitate ridging.

If the hoe is used for a long time, the wooden joints will become loose. If you have iron sheets for reinforcement, just buy them and reinforce them yourself.

There are personal preferences for using tools, and I think having these four tools is basically enough.
